Keleti Újság, issue no. 102, 6 May 1944, p. 1

Descriere

This article mentions that the readership had not been previously aware of the Jewish origin of many of the authors forbidden by this decree. These authors’ works were thought to introduce into the spiritual life ideas which were deemed poisonous to Hungarian purity. The article also claims that Jewish writers effaced Hungarian authors in the literary scene. As a result of these decrees, thirty wagons’ worth of books were recycled.
