Andor Lusztig's postcard to his sister-in-law, Erzsébet, dated 26 June 1944

Descriere

On 26 June 1944, Andor Lusztig, while being detained in the Baia Mare forced labour detachment, wrote his sister-in-law, Erzsébet, asking about his wife, Julia, and the children, who had gone to Budapest to board the Kasztner train. Both Julia and her two children, Tibor and Noemi, as well as her father-in-law, Moritz Lusztig, survived because they managed to board the train headed to Switzerland, as arranged by Rezső Kasztner, whereby he managed to save 1684 Jews from Hungary.
