Minorities Treaty
Titlu
Minorities Treaty
Descriere
The Minorities Treaty (originally drafted in French) was signed by the Allied Powers and Romania on 9 December 1919. Among the rights included in the treaty was the right to education in one’s mother tongue in institutions funded by the state, by local authorities, or by other public funds. This contributed to the development of the Zionist movement in Romania by introducing Hebrew as a compulsory language of instruction in the Jewish schools of Timișoara, Oradea and Cluj.
